The installation at the Fondaco dei Tedeschi features works by French-Moroccan photographer Leila Alaoui who was killed in a terrorist attack in 2016 while working on an Amnesty International commission for women’s rights.
The exhibition consists of two parts: Les Marocains and Crossings. The first one pictures a choral portrait of Morocco through its inhabitants in the form of gigantic photographs of great visual impact, some of which have never been seen before. The second depicts the journey undertaken by sub-Saharan migrants to reach Morocco and the shores of Europe through videos and images located on the fourth floor.
