December 3rd will be the national debut of the Casanova Opera Pop, a tour which opens the new show season at the Malibran Theatre in Venice. This will be the first show of the tour, that after its opening in the Venetian lagoon will continue in Italy until march 2023. After some previews of the musical – most of which sold-out – took place in only six Italian cities and marked the beginning of the 2022 theatre season, now it officially begins its first tournée.
The extraordinary musical performance – based on the best-seller by Matteo Strukul “Giacomo Casanova – la sonata dei cuori infranti“, translated in more than 10 languages – is a new theatre piece created, composed and produced by Red Canzian. This majestic show already won the hearts of more than 30.000 people during the preview tour.
Casanova Opera Pop tells the story of 35-year-old Giacomo Casanova who, coming back from exile, is a strong defender of Venice from foreign power plays that would like to conquer the city’s secrets. The show lasts two hours, divided into two acts, with 21 extraordinary performers on stage: 11 actors-singers and 10 acrobats-dancers that follow the choreographies of Martina Nadalini and Roberto Carrozzino. The public will witness more than 30 scene changes that Red personally created through an immersive scenic stage made of photographies of a seemly deserted Venice, shot during the pandemic and edited to re-create the atmospheres of 18th century Venice.
