Ca' Pesaro - Modern Art Gallery
Ca’ Pesaro – paying homage to the great Vittore Carpaccio exhibition at the Doge’s Palace – presents the latest cycle of works by Milanese painter Marco Petrus, collected under the title of “Capricci”.
The series takes its cue from the rigorous and measured lines of the typical Venetian breeches worn by certain figures that animate the scenes of some of Carpaccio’s and Giovanni Mansueti’s canvases, exhibited in the rooms of the Gallerie dell’Accademia in Venice. From a meticulous analysis of the decorative details, Petrus’ work develops the repetition and reproduction of the chromatic textures, finally becoming explicit in the reflection and inflection of the rhythms that emerge: a large installation is thus realised, a sort of mental game and pictorial exercise.
