The exhibition season at the Casa dei Tre Oci – a building that takes its name from the three large windows overlooking the Giudecca Canal – reopens in grand style. This is the
largest exhibition ever held, and the first one in Italy, dedicated to French-Swiss photographer Sabine Weiss, who died at the age of 97 at the end of 2021.

Weiss was one of the most important representatives of French humanist photography, together with Doisneau, Ronis, Boubat, Brassaï and Izis. She was the only female photographer of the post-war period to have worked in this profession for so long and in all fields of photography – from reportage to portraits of artists, from fashion to street shots with a particular focus on children’s faces. The exhibition is the first and most important tribute to her career, with over 200 shots including some previously unpublished ones.
