The Gallerie dell’Accademia host the most important collection of Venetian and Veneto artworks, which dates back from the 14th to 18th century. Here you can admire masterpieces by Giovanni Bellini, Giorgione, Carpaccio, Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese and Tiepolo, and works by several important landscape artists including Canaletto, Bellotto and Guardi. The monumental complex hosting these works occupies the ancient church of Santa Maria della Carità and a complex designed by Andrea Palladio in 1561.
Following a reopening in late August 2021 after two years of restoration, the building will gradually inaugurate new sections, among which: the room dedicated to the reconstruction of the ceiling of Palazzo Corner Spinelli, painted by Giorgio Vasari; the room dedicated to the Bassano canvases; and a new room for the exhibition of graphic masterpieces from the Cabinet of Drawings, one of the richest collections in Italy, with no less than 20 drawings by Leonardo da Vinci.
