The museum boasts more than two-hundred rare, priceless pieces of Venetian lace from the 16th to 20th century. 

This museum - the most important one of its kind in Italy - is owned by the Italian Navy and is devoted to Venice’s seafaring history. 

Built in the 16th century, Palazzo Grimani is a testament to its owners’ passion for archaeology, ancient Roman style, and statues.

Beside the beautiful rooms of this historical building, here you can admire both the Museum of Fabrics and Costumes and the Museum of Perfumes.

This ‘dispersed museum’ allows you to discover the Ghetto, synagogues, an ancient cemetery and the museum itself. It contains a small but precious collection of artefacts related to the long history of Jews in Venice.

The venue has not been conceived as a traditional museum but as a multi-media and emotional experience, designed to allow visitors to relive the atmosphere of 18th-century Venice.
